“Let us, therefore, make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.”
Romans 14:19 NIV
As a follower of the Lord Jesus, our conduct should be a witness to others of a transformed life. Paul wrote to Titus, “And show your own self in all respects to be a pattern and a model of good deeds and works, teaching what is unadulterated, showing gravity [having the strictest regard for truth and purity of motive], with dignity and seriousness. And let your instruction be sound and fit and wise and wholesome, vigorous and irrefutable and above censure, so that the opponent may be put to shame, finding nothing discrediting or evil to say about us” Titus 2:7-8
As a Missions Team Member:
The Code of Conduct is required to ensure a fulfilling experience for each team member, the cohesion and safety of team members, and a good reputation for God and LSCC. I promise to forgo my convictions if they contradict this code of conduct to maintain unity and avoid controversy with the mission team, team leader, missionary, or natives.
I understand that the Team Leader will deal with any lack of adherence to the Code of Conduct swiftly and adequately. Therefore, by signing my name below, I hereby state that I have read and agree to abide by Lone Star Cowboy Church’s Missions Trip Code of Conduct.
Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News. Philippians 1:27, NIV
Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong. Romans 14:1, NLT
Always be humble and gentle. Be patient, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Ephesians 4:2, NLT
A background check is required by all individuals attending a mission trip.
Return flights from smaller countries may be delayed due to unforeseeable circumstances; prepare your work and family at home to make this possible.
Cell service or wi-fi is absent in some areas we travel.
All LSCC adult mission trips are for ages 18 and above.
All applications are subject to review for approval or disapproval. Notification of approval or disapproval will be given by email.
The protocol for gift-giving or leaving personal items is as follows: Ask the team leader, who will ask the missionary if it is okay. The missionary has the final say. The Team Leader will let the team or individual know what can or cannot happen. The item(s) will then be given to the missionary for distribution according to their discretion unless they choose otherwise. The reason for this is our team can go home, but the missionary must stay and deal with any issues we create through favoritism or the expectations of the people they minister to.
